Once an ancient is augmented the stats on it *should* (general rule not absolute) overcome the advantage that perfect stats on a non-ancient would otherwise give you. But save ancient piece in case you end up with it being your final ancient to augment. I would say do not swap to Ancient if it is not really close to perfect stat allocation. Also I'm not using the Pushing build so I expect to become weak and slow at higher GR until I switch back. I have run GR97 and it wasn't bad a bit scary. But I have also swapped gear a lot from drops finding better combinations. I have swapped stats on about 5 of the items to make them maxroll.gg -optimal. I only have 2 ancients (my rings) plus an ethereal with a power that is not useful for this build. I have finished all the objectives of the season but am running GR90s consistently in about 3.5 min (which is considered very slow I'm sure but this is my 2nd char after firebirds so still getting used to it). I run Inna's water speeds build mostly and am similar paragon (811). This is most commonly done at the end of the season just before your final push. If you get the rest of your gear to end-game status, you can use either bloodshards or Upgrade Rare to help, just be aware that you will go through mats super fast.įinally, once there's only one or two items left you need to upgrade, especially if they're really rare items (consult the Kadala table for relative drop rates), then reforge can be a good tool to finish your build off. Personally, I always just rely on drops alone for jewellry. In non-season, or for seasonal builds that need a non-ethereal weapon (such as Inna), you can either get lucky with drops or use the Upgrade Rare recipe in the cube (recipe #3).įor rings and amulets, there's no particularly good way to farm them, but jewellry is the last gear that you need ancients for, since the most important stats (Crit Chance, Crit Damage, etc) aren't affected by being ancient. Just run non-stop greater rifts to get these. This season, most builds want an ethereal weapon, which can only be found by drops. The reason for this order is mostly that certain gear like bracers and gloves don't see as much benefit from being ancient, since you want crit chance, crit damage, and elemental damage wherever you can, and those stats aren't affected by being ancient.įor weapons, don't use bloodshards. You also can’t double up the effect by augmenting twice, if you augment the same item a second time, it will replace the. As you can see above, a rank 50 Gem will get you an additional 250 points to your main stat. The best order is somewhat debatable, but I usually go Pants > Torso > Boots > Belt > Offhand (if relevant) > Shoulders > Helm > Bracers > Gloves. You will get +5 points to your main stat on the augmented item for every rank on the Legendary Gem that you choose to consume. This is usually the best way to get ancients for most items. Use bloodshards on armour or off-hand items - anything that costs 25 bloodshards. The efficient approach is to go as high as you can clear in under 3 minutes, although if you're playing more casually or slower, the recommended strategy is the same. ![]() The general rule is just run non-stop greater rifts (plus nephalem rifts for keys as needed).
